HCAAO 2025 Annual General Meeting and Kopi Pitas

In January 19, HCAAO members got together for the Annual General Meeting of our association. Our president, Prof. Sakis Gekas, cut the traditional vasilopita (see picture). HCAAO executives presented the annual activity report and discussed plans for the new year. The message of the president is presented below:


Dear colleagues,
Happy New Year! It is my pleasure and duty to express my gratitude to my fellow members of the Hellenic Canadian Academic Association of Ontario executive board for the commitment and support and especially their time during this past year to organize and host a series of very successful events, and to all of you who supported the Association in various ways. This has been a very different year compared to previous ones and we feel we have fulfilled our mission to offer academic and cultural events of broader interest to our members and the community at large. We invite you to join the Association again this year and to join us in person for the celebration of our achievements at our Annual General Meeting on Sunday January 19, 2025 at 4pm at College St 200. This year we will review our activities and present our plans for the coming year, but also we look forward to hearing from you, so please come with ideas and suggestions to match the ones we will be presenting as a board. 2025 is not election year so our plans on the new executive and its decisions. We welcome colleagues who would like to nominate themselves or nominate others before but also at the Annual General Meeting. This will be the first time we welcome graduate students to our Annual General Meeting, and we will be electing one graduate student for a position in the executive board.
