Documentary and Music: The Laughing Boy

On October 30, 2025, HCAAO screened “The Laughing Boy,” a documentary on the famous poem and song. The event—a sequel to our earlier “Year of Mikis Theodorakis event— took place at Innis College, University of Toronto, in collaboration with our Associate Member and good friend Tina Poulimenou-Tzatzanis. The event was organized as part of the “Echo Reading Series” that Tina has so skillfully put together over the past three years. We were honored to receive the support of the Consul General of Greece in Toronto for the event, and were delighted to host the Consul General of Ireland in Toronto, who expressed her gratitude for our efforts to contribute to the promotion of Irish-Greek cultural relations in Toronto. We were also grateful to have ChiJazz, our Association’s favorite band, perform some of the music of Mikis Theodorakis, before and after the screening.
