The HCAAO 2009 Annual General Meeting took place on Sunday, December 13, 2009, 4:00 p.m at the Dept. of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry, University of Toronto, 200 College Street, Room WB 215.

University Studies Orientation Day 2009

This event was organized in cooperation with the Greek Community of Toronto. The goal was to help high school students applying for university studies make better and informed choices. (See the related public announcement below.) HCAAO members came together to talk to high-school students and their parents about their specialization area, their department, faculty, and university.

University Studies Orientation Day:
Are you a senior high school student (grade 11 or 12) planning to apply to an Ontario university? Are you looking for more information about various fields of study in Ontario universities?

Are you a parent trying to help your kids choose what is best for them in university? If so, then the University Studies Orientation Day is just for you! The Hellenic-Canadian Academic Association of Ontario (HCAAO) and the Greek Community of Toronto are inviting you to come and meet professors of Hellenic descent teaching in Ontario universities. They will be delighted to offer information on their respective academic fields and provide advice and guidance to help you make better choices. This is a friendly and informal fair designed to help you with some of the most important decisions of your life. So, don’t miss the opportunity. Be there!

Get-together Dinner 2009

The Get-Together Dinner took place on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at The David Duncan House.
Guest Speaker: Dr. Dean Kostantaras, HHF Hellenic Studies Chair, York U.

Dr. Dean Knstantaras’ special presentation was titled: “The Future of the Greek Revolution: Reflections on a Contested History”.
