Identity, Mission Statement and Objectives

Established in 1991, the Hellenic Canadian Academic Association of Ontario (HCAAO) is the Association of Canadian Academics of Hellenic descent working as faculty members in 14 Ontario Universities.

The HCAAO facilitates communication, collaboration, exchanges and partnerships between Canadian and Greek Academics, professionals, students and people of Letters, Arts & Culture.

It also facilitates communication, collaboration, exchanges and partnerships between Canadian and Greek academic, professional, artistic and cultural organizations.

Finally, the HCAAO offers advice and support to any academic-related activity that is organized and/or supported by community and other organizations.

Since its inception in 1991, the HCAAO has organized, co-organized and/or hosted a number of events and played a key role in the establishment of the HHF Chair in Modern Greek History and the Hellenic Studies program at York University
